Moses Kuria has ruled out plans to work with Deputy president William Ruto ahead of the 2022 general elections.
In an interview with a local TV station, Kuria said that he wished he could still work with the second in command.
The Gatundu South MP said that he is now differing with DP Ruto due to his demands that all parties supporting him should dissolve and join UDA.
“It was my wish that I continue working with William Ruto and I hope that opportunity will present itself at some point but for the time being, William Ruto has said clearly that if you want to work with him, then you have to join the ‘only’ national party which is UDA,” the Chama Cha Kazi party leader sated.
He noted that he was among politicians who were sidelined by Jubilee when they associated with Ruto.
“I would prefer working with the Deputy President, he is my friend, we have suffered together. I’m not in government because people who are associated with William Ruto are perceived to be in the opposition,” he said.
Kuria further said that he is currently not interested in vying for any political seat but only intends to support other candidates to claim leadership positions.
He insisted that Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua will be the best suited for Kenya’s next deputy president.
The lawmaker also predicted that there will be four candidates contesting for the country’s top position in the coming general elections.
According to Kuria, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka , Raila Odinga (ODM), William Ruto (UDA) and Musalia Mudavadi of ANC will be facing each other in the August 9 elections.
“My analysis came up with 2 scenarios, the first scenario was a 4-horse race; Raila, Ruto, Kalonzo and Musalia. None will get to 50+1; Kalonzo & Musalia will eat away largely from Raila, Ruto will be ahead of the pack but not with 50+1,” he explained.
Recently Kuria declared that Kenya will not be safe in the hands of DP Ruto.
