Moses Kuria has a knack for getting either positive or negative comments from Kenyans depending his take on a topic. Like marmite, the man’s opinions are never received in a lukewarm manner and one finds themselves either nodding vigorously in agreement or refuting completely.
This past week the Gatundu MP was the recipient of condemnation from numerous Kenyans. Their reason? The vocal politician had spoken insensitively about ex-IEBC IT boss Chris Msando who was murdered weeks prior to the 2017 General Election.
Kuria argued that Msando had been murdered by the same system that assassinated Josiah Mwangi Kariuki popularly referred to as JM Kariuki in 1975.
His comment was a response to a man twitter user who had responded on his tweet where he alleged his life was in danger. “Deep state using Harambee House blogger Weston Wanjohi to threaten me with assassination JM Kariuki style. And DCI will still not act on this. Like father like son,”he claimed.

One netizen who did not take his remarks lightly clapped back stating the MP was haunted by “Msando’s spirits” to which the second-term legislator replied by saying the official was eliminated by the deep state.
Other Kenyans joined and many were irked as they condemned the William Ruto’s ally. Jamumbo wrote: Respect the dead and let the family heal peacefully.” “You were part of that system? How did you know he was with a woman and finally was found murdered together with a woman?'”Joseph Manoti posed.
Kuria had in January, threatened to let the cat out of the bag on how Msando was killed. The lawmaker said he was tired of people linking him to the murder as he threatened to spill the beans on what transpired.
