Nyali MP Mohammed Ali was confronted by netizens who demanded to know if he has ditched Ruto’s camp for Raila’s ODM.
Raila was in Mombasa over the weekend to consolidate his Coast stronghold and section of Ruto allied politicians joined his rallies raising speculations.
Mohammed Ali was seen donning orange t-shirt, which is the official color of ODM, a day after Raila’s visit.
The Nyali MP, who won his seat as an independent candidate in 2017 but is now an ally of Ruto, was interacting with his constituents while donning the ODM color.

Netizens were quick to ask the Nyali MP whether he had ditched Ruto’s camp for Raila and he didn’t have a direct answer to that question.
“It’s romoured that you are headed to Odm… Clear the air..,” A tweep asked Mohammed Ali.
To which he replied;
“Hiyo majani ina mbegu mob sana. Tumia maziwa.”

Mohammed Ali used to be ODM member but he fell out with the party after a shambolic nomination ahead of the 2017 general election.
He claimed that the ODM nomination for Nyali constituency was rigged in favor of governor Hassan Joho’s brother Said Abdalla whom he defeated in the general election to clinch the Nyali constituency seat.
Ali and Mombasa governor Joho, who is ODM deputy party leader, don’t see eye to eye and as such it could be very hard for him to return to ODM.
It’s expected that Ali would defend his Nyali constituency seat on UDA party ticket since he is now an ally of the deputy president Ruto.
However, there have been claims that Ali has decided to contest for Mombasa gubernatorial seat in the forthcoming 2022 general election.
