A young Boy, identified as Nester Jacob caused a stir during the Azimio la Umoja campaign in Vihiga county.
The young boy was welcomed to address the crowd and he imitated the ODM leader Raila Odinga.
“Haiyaaa, Tinga tinga la Kenya haiyaa mimi wenu Raila Amollo Odinga tinga tinga ya kegonti inaweza. Huyu Ruto kutudanganya hapa na mawheelbarrow na wamama wanataka mang’ombe ambia jirani yako sahi ni wakati wa baba,” Nester said as the crowd cheered.
“Na Joho, Joho, give me something bana am broke na wewe Oria…” he said before he was cut short and taken to where governor Joho was.
“If the boy knows the truth, who are you to oppose? hebu sema Jina lako,” Joho engaged the boy.
“Nester Jacob Kavai,” he responded.
“Who is the fifth president of Kenya,” Joho went on.
“Raila Amollo Odinga,” he answered and proceeded to say, “Mnipatieko elfu 10 ama ingine because wazazi… wangu mimi ndio breadwinner,” Nester said.
Joho called a man known to him identified as Kipara to help them with the boy’s situation but he vehemently disagreed as the crowd burst into laughter.
The Mombasa governor announced that together with Suna East Junet Mohammed and Murang’a women Rep, they will help the young boy to study so that he can later help his family.
He also issued the boy some money and gave the rest to his father who also showed up at the event.
According to a report that was filed by Tuko News in October 2021, the 12-year old dropped out of school to take care of his father and grandmother who were ailing then. His mother passed on long ago.
The boy would preach the word of God in market places and matatus from Kakamega to Kisumu so that he can get some offering to fend for his family.
“Just look at how the situation is in this family, if I stay at home we’d have nothing which means we’d sleep hungry. Who would provide it if not me?” Nestor posed.
The Azimio team, led by Mombasa governor Ali Hassan and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed traversed the county on Thursday February 10 to popularize the movement’s agenda and drum up support for the ODM leader Raila Odinga’s presidential candidature.
