It seems that Meru senator Mithika Linturi is among the unluckiest politicians in Kenya, because trouble never seems to stop following him.
Over the weekend, Linturi faced two humiliating moments when he attempted promoting the hustler nation political agendas while thrashing Azimio.
First, it was on Friday during a prayer session at the CITAM church. Linturi had started attacking ODM leader Raila Odinga when Bishop Calisto Odede stopped him without any hesitation
“The country has been fighting because there is an individual who does not accept election results once they’re announced by IEBC,” Linturi said in his speech when Bishop Odede rose up and told him to stop making remarks that would bring tension or alienate any member of the society.
“As I mentioned earlier on that as a church, we try to minister to people from different political parties without creating any sense of animosity. And in a function like this which is in our church, we try to maintain that attitude that everyone else comes whether you are UDA, whether you are ODM, whether you are Jubilee, whether you are…you are welcome here.
“You need to feel comfortable here that no one is alienating you and no one is actually saying some things that are negative that would ostracize anyone,” Odede said.
Linturi apologized saying that he sometimes gets emotional but asked the congregation to understand him.
The senator was also embarrassed by his kinsmen who openly told him that they are in Azimio, when he tried promoting UDA on Sunday in Meru
According to a source the crowd told him to forget any political seat if he won’t be joining the Azimio la Umoja movement.
“Mithika Linturi told by his home area residents to forget any seat if he doesn’t join Azimio,” read a tweet.
“Mithika Linturi warned by his kinsmen not to return to Meru County if he does not join Azimio. ‘Maneno ya UDA upeleke Kericho. Hapa tuko Azimio.’,”Councillor Njohi said.
