Wanjala escaped from Jogoo Road Police station moments before he was to be arraigned in court for the mention of the case in which he accused of brutally murdering over 10 children from Bungoma, Machakos and Nairobi counties.

Since I had offered a reward of 200k for the information leading to his arrest, I will now give the 200k to the group of youth who did this good job,” Sonko said.
He however defended his move saying that the Sonko Rescue Team was responsible for transferring bodies of Wanjala’s victims to various destination’s for burial.
“I’m not doing this as PR but sisi (SRT) ndio tulisafirisha bodies of the murdered children to various destinations for burial and the tears and pain that the parents and familia walipitia ilikuwa kubwa sana na hawatasahau haraka.
