“It’s about making the world a better place for all,” Sonko said.
The Former Nairobi governor has once again addressed claims of helping Kenyans in need for political reasons.
LSK president recently accused Sonko of looking for political favours by supporting embattled lawyer Brian Mwendwa.
While responding to the accusations, Sonko noted that Mwenda’s case is not his first philanthropic case as he has been helping people for a long time.
“Watu wangu, on thursday evening, my good friend, the LSK President, misled the court that I’m just playing politics and want to gain political mileage in the case of lawyer Brian Mwenda. He further played a video in court and stated that Brian is a flight risk because in the video, I was heard and seen saying I would sponsor Brian for further law studies in London.
“I want to clarify to my good friend the LSK President and the court of public opinion that I’m also the Good deeds President in the country, courtesy of the philanthropic work I volunteer to do for the public. I’ve been involved in these acts of kindness from the very beginning purely out of goodwill and a desire to make a positive impact. It’s not about politics for me. It’s about making the world a better place for all, especially to those who are less privileged in society,” Sonko said.
Sonko added that his deeds are out of pure will, adding that he should be left to continue with the charity works.
“Kwa ivyo wale wanapiga mdomo wakisema nafanya hivi vyote juu ya siasa wakunje mkia na tupatane kotini tuwanyoroshe Time for politics will come, but for now, let me continue doing charitable activities in peace.
His post was accompanied by photos and videos, as evidence of some of the cases against the less privileged that he has sponsored since 2015.
