Miguna Miguna is determined to return back to Kenya even though several attempts by him to do so since 2018 have failed.
Miguna was first deported from the country to Canada in February 2018 after overseeing the swearing in of ODM leader Raila Odinga as the People’s president in January.
Miguna returned to the country but was later forcefully deported to Dubai with the lawyer claiming that he was drugged before being flown out of the country.
“I was dragged, assaulted, drugged and forcefully flown to Dubai. I woke up in Dubai and the despots are here insisting that I must travel on to London. No where else. I’m sick. My ribs and body is hurting all over. This is a travesty of justice,” he shared on social media.
Reasons for his deportation according to the government included treason and that he had denounced his Kenyan citizenship.
In a tweet, Miguna has told off his critics for questioned why he is so determined to return to Kenya when life in Canada is much better than here in Kenya.
According to the lawyer, he is determined to return back to the country because it is his right.
“I’m not determined to return home because Kenya is better than Canada. Far from it. Kenya is worse than Canada in all categories of life. I’m determined to come home because it’s my absolute and irrevocable right. Period,” he tweeted.
Miguna is now stuck in Berlin, Germany after his latest attempt to return to the country failed to yield fruits.
The court however ordered the government to allow Miguna back in the country after he obtains emergency travel papers from the Kenyan embassy in Berlin but the embassy declined to provide him with the papers.
