Miguna Miguna has urged Kenyans to protest over the appointment of Ezra Chiloba as the Director General of the Communication Authority of Kenya.
In a series of tweets, the exiled lawyer said that appointing Chiloba on that role was a declaration of war.
“The appointment of Ezra Chiloba as the head of the Communications Commission of Kenya that CONTROLS Kenya’s AIR-WAVES is a declaration of WAR on Kenyans by despot Uhuru Kenyatta. Freedom Fighters: Mobilize! Organize! Revolution is coming!,” Miguna tweeted.
He went ahead to accuse Chiloba of being behind the death of former IEBC ICT officer Chris Msando.
“Chris Msando set out to stop electoral theft and deliver a credible poll. Ezra Chiloba delivered Msando to his killers, messed up and stole elections for despot Uhuru Kenyatta, who has rewarded Chiloba by appointing him the head of all Internet, TVs, Radios, and IEBC SERVERS!,” he said.
The appointment of Chiloba as the new DG of CA was announced on Tuesday evening eliciting mixed reactions among Kenyans.
“Chiloba previously worked as a Team Leader and Deputy Chief of Party with Development Alternative Inc. He was previously a Projects Analyst in charge of governance, electoral systems and processes with the United Nations Development Program in Nairobi,” read part of the statement by CA’s board of management.
The 42-year old will replace Francis Wangusi who served from 2012-2020. He will serve on a four-year contract which might be renewed.
Chiloba is the immediate former Chief Executive Officer of IEBC. He was fired by IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati over gross misconduct, breach and violation of the Commission’s Human Resource and Administration policies.
“In tandem with fair administrative action, the Commission subsequently invited Chiloba to appear before the Disciplinary Committee so as to provide responses to the charges levelled against him. He, however, twice failed to honour the summons,” Chebukati stated in 2018.
