US President Elect Joe Biden hand picked Kamau Mandela Marshall, Kenyan communications expert to spearhead his campaign as he was looking to occupy the White House.
Mr Kamau had been serving as Texas congressman, Al Green’s Communications Director between 2017 and 2018 as well as a speechwriter and communications advisor under the Obama Administration back in 2016.
His illustrious career has also seen him serve as a special assistant in the office of Elija Cummings– U.S. Representative from Maryland’s 7th District, as well as a press and legislative fellow at the office of Senator Tom Carper back in 2013.

The astute communications expert based in Washington D.C. Metro Area, could potentially find himself as the White House Communications Director, a position normally reserved for a senior public relations staff member of the candidate’s campaign staff.
This is more often than not either the deputy campaign manager or the campaign communications director.
Joe Biden, who served for eight years as Barack Obama’s deputy after more than three decades in the U.S. Senate, launched his third shot at the presidency on April 25, 2019.
Interestingly, despite joining the presidential fray quite late, the former vice president has surged ahead of his competitors in the Democratic primary voter’s polls.
But Kamau is not the only person of Kenyan origin in Joe Biden’s team.
Esther Ongeri, a young Kenyan living in the US, is the talk of the town after Kenyans learnt that she plays a key role in the Joe Biden presidential campaign.
According to Biden’s campaign website, Ms Ongeri is the Director of Special Projects in the Biden 2020 campaign and has served in the position since July.
Previously, she worked as the Executive Assistant to the Campaign Manager and Special Projects Coordinator in the same campaign team from June 2019.
Ms Ongeri held the posts of operations coordinator from September 2017 to February 2018 and special projects assistant to the CFO from February 2018.
She is an alumnus of Saint Peter’s University in New Jersey where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in political science and government in 2017.

Ms Ongeri started off as an intern in the office of Senator Menendez between August 2015 to May 2016.
She attained her high school diploma at Saint Dominic Academy in 2013 after joining the school in 2009.
