Evelyn Chemutai is the beautiful Kenyan woman set to be Nick Ruto’s wife following their traditional wedding ceremony held at Nairobi’s Windy Ridge in Karen.
Deputy president and his family on Saturday accompanied his son Nick Ruto to the ritual traditional wedding ceremony that is commonly referred to as Koito in the Kalenjin community. This ceremony also involves dowry negotiation.
Being an invite only ceremony, very few people attended especially those in the political circles such as members of parliament, senators, governors, members of county assembly, cabinet secretaries amongst others.
The videos and photos from the event revealed an opulent and a colorful event befitting that of the son of the second topmost civil servant in the country.
The man of the hour Nick Ruto donned a customized white kaunda suit decorated with a kitenge fabric on the left side of the shoulders and blended with a white panama hat.
After dating for long with his girlfriend Everlyn Chemtai, Nick Ruto finally decided to officially get engaged to her. According to reports, Chemtai is said to hail from Laikipia county.
Everlyn Chemtai is the daughter of Mr and Mrs David Baron who are both from Laikipia .
The move by Nick proves that he is not gay after a video emerged in September last with rumors having it that he was getting engaged to his Indian lover.
Nick, who was turning 30 years old when the video was taken, however came out to deny the allegations saying that receiving gift from a friend either of a similar gender or the opposite does not amount to sexual relationship.
“Build your circle and celebrate each other. If you can,gift your friends the best you can on their special occasions like Birthdays, Anniversaries, weedings e.t.c This will help you understand the value of friendship and comprehend that gifting a friend of same or Opposite gender does NOT amount to Sexual/erotic relationship. Thank you all for your Birthday wishes and gifts,” wrote Nick Ruto.
This wedding ceremony comes almost a year after June Ruto, the daughter of the deputy president got married to a Nigerian lover Alexander Ezenagu at Karen. Unlike Nick Ruto’s private ceremony, June Ruto’s event was not kept under wraps.
