Interior Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang’i has dropped one of the boldest statements in politics yet.
President Uhuru Kenyatta’s “fixer” has come out to tell the Deputy President, William Ruto to resign after having a closed-door meeting where no press was allowed yesterday to explain why three Senators were arrested.
“Constitution in Art.118 prohibits exclusion of the public, including the media from Parliamentary sittings unless in exceptional circumstances determined by SPEAKER. A Committee Chair doesn’t have powers to exclude the media from its sittings. Senate security committee erred in law” Elgeyo Marakwet Senator said on today after media was banned from covering the meeting.
Matiang’i was summoned together with Inspector General of police, Hillary Mutyembai and DCI Director, George Kinoti.
CS Matiang’i has called on the Deputy President, William Samoei Ruto to not only resign but to also join the opposition.
Nobody saw this statement coming from a mile away, especially from Matiang’i.
