The main suspect in the Forest Road incident where boda boda riders assaulted a female motorist was forced to flee via a sewer duct.
The suspect identified as Zachariah Nyaora Obadia who hails from the informal settlement of Mukuru Kaiyaba escaped when detectives went to arrest him.
According to a report by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Obadia was able to be identified by detectives using digital forensics.
“Using digital forensics, the sleuths working with cybercrime experts at the DCI National Forensic Laboratory, placed the thug at the scene of the crime scientifically and went after him this afternoon deep in Mukuru Kaiyaba informal settlement,” read a statement by DCI.
DCI added that his family, including wife and his relatives positively identified him and it is only a matter of time before he gets arrested.
Detectives further advised the suspect to surrender at the DCI headquarters or any police station near him within 24 hours as from Tuesday evening.
“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is cautioning Zacharia Nyaora Obadia, not to engage detectives in cat and mouse games but to surrender at DCI headquarters or the nearest Police station within 24 hours,” DCI said.Â
Equally, his accomplices who were within the vicinity of the barbaric attack whether captured on the videoclip or not, have all been identified forensically. They are hereby ordered to submit themselves at DCI headquarters before detectives catch up with them.
 A number of boda boda riders arrested with regards to the incident will be charged with robbery with violence.
According to reports, they robbed the woman, who is said to be working with UN, a total of Kshs130,000 and her expensive phone besides sexually harassing her.
