A widow in Bungoma County is crying for justice after her husband was wrongfully accused of murdering a boy aged 9 and dumping his body in their pit latrine.
Mary Ajenga wants justice for her late husband who died of stress after being accused of a crime he did not commit.
This comes after the real suspect behind the death, serial killer Masten Milimo Wanjala, led DCI detectives to a home in Bungoma County where he claimed to have buried some of his victims.
The detectives led by Martin Nyuguto spend a better part of Wednesday at the county in which the suspect hails from to carry out their investigations.
They visited Sosio village in Kamukuywa ward, Kimilili Constituency where the 9- year old, identified as Emmanuel Wafula was allegedly killed before his body was dumped in the pit latrine belonging to Haron Ajenga in February 2019.
The decomposing body of the boy was discovered days later by the late Ajenga who raised alarm.
Angry residents stormed his home on suspicions that he was responsible for the death of the Class Two pupil at Kingstar Academy and torched his house. He was arrested but released later on bail.
He however died last year while in hospital due to illness. Ajenga’s widow said that her niece who was living with them when the incident occurred was beaten and injured when the locals struck their home.
The widow says that the real suspect of the murder was present when the officers visited the home to remove the boy’s remains from the pit latrine.
20-year old Wanjala confessed to killing about 12 teenagers in different parts of the country. He told detectives that he even sodomized and sucked blood from the veins of some of them before eventually killing them.
