It has emerged that Tom Adala, a National Intelligence Officer, who shot himself dead in Kilimani might have been depressed.
According to his workmates who spoke to the Nation, Adala was undergoing difficult moments after partying ways with his wife. He was even seeking professional help to cope up with the situation.
Aside from that his colleagues feel he was demoted after being transferred to his new station as the head of Counter-Extremesim Violence Unit.
“We visited him at home several times when he failed to report to work after staff challenges. Adala wanted to resign but we urged him to stay,” one of his colleagues revealed.
Adala was found dead in a pool of blood on Tuesday by his nephew according to the police.
The nephew found it unusual after he failed to show up for breakfast by 9am only for him to stumble upon his body. He last saw Adala at 10pm on Monday.
Police who arrived at the scene found a pistol, spend cartridges and a magazine with three rounds of ammunition.
Sources further revealed that they recovered a pocket size diary in Adala’s bedroom, with a note dated June 2.
“Nobody should be blamed for this,” the note was concluded.
