Manchester United are reportedly seeking clarification over whether new signing Edinson Cavani must self-isolate for two weeks.
The 33-year-old arrived in the UK on Sunday to complete a deadline day move to Old Trafford, but COVID rules mean he cannot join up with his teammates until October 19.
As a free agent, the Uruguayan was not part of an elite athlete bubble after leaving Paris Saint-Germain in June, which means he is not exempt from the quarantine regulations.

Cavani is certain to miss the Premier League clash with Newcastle on October 17, and would have just one day of training to prepare for United’s Champions League encounter with his former club PSG – unless United can find a loophole.
According to reports, the Red Devils are looking to see if there is any way Cavani can start work at Carrington earlier.
It is believed thatthe signing of Cavani is nothing more than a ‘band-aid’ for United, who missed out on numerous other transfer targets during the summer window.
