A man who threatened to kill his fellow man and then cut his body into tiny pieces of flesh is in police custody following his arrest on Friday.
Amar Dilip Shah was arrested by serious crime scene detectives along General Mathenge street in Nairobi’s Westlands area.
The suspect however resisted arrest by trying to fight the officer who was arresting him before he was eventually overpowered.
“What followed was a scuffle as the unruly suspect attempted to throw kicks and punches at the detective Inspector of police. But the officer, who is also a martial arts specialist, employed a few calculated tactical moves and subdued the man,” reads a report by DCI.
According to DCI, Shah is facing charges of threatening to kill contrary to the section 223 (1) of the Penal Code.
DCI further cautioned members of the public against assaulting police officers, resisting or obstructing arrest saying that they risk being punished for such offenses.
“Members of the public are advised to note that assaulting a police officer, resisting or willfully obstructing a police officer in the due execution of his duties attracts a fine not exceeding Sh1 million or imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years, or both.
