A married woman in Eldoret has dragged a 41-year old man in court for allegedly sending him explicit messages and photos.
Police investigations established that Andrew Wanjala send the explicit content to the said woman on November 12, 2022 using his phone, through WhatsApp.
Wanjala was apprehended by officers from the Baharini Police station in Turbo county after investigations into the matter were concluded.
The suspect however told the police that the complainant, who has been identified as A.W in court papers, was his lover.
The woman is a mother of two and married to another man, denied claims of having an affair with Wanjala.
Wanjala was arraigned in an Eldoret court before principal magistrate Caroline Watima where he was charged with offensive Conduct.
He however denied the charges and proceeded to defend himself, maintaining that the complainant was his lover and they were secretly exchanging the nudities as lovers.
“I am wondering why my lover has become rude to me to an extent of bringing me to court when we were exchanging love messages as lovers,” he defended himself before the magistrate told him that he will have a chance to challenge the charges when the matter proceeds to trial.
The prosecution has lined up six witnesses including A.W’s husband and daughter, who are said to have come across the messages and pictures that Wanjala sent to her.
Wanjala was released on Kshs50,000 and the matter will be mentioned on January 22, 2024.
