A Nakuru man has broken his limbs after attempting suicide by jumping off the balcony of a fourth-floor apartment located in Afraha in Nakuru Town East.
Paul Ochieng is said to have attempted suicide after allegedly killing his 20-year-old wife on Wednesday morning. He allegedly stabbed his wife Njeri Kamande in the chest.
The police claimed that the couple had engaged in a domestic fight which led to Ochieng stabbing his wife in the right part of her chest. Nakuru Town East Sub-County Police Commander Elena Kabukuru said that Njeri died on the spot after she was stabbed.
Ochieng’ who survived the suicide attempt on the other side broke his limbs and is currently at Nakuru Level 5 Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
“Once he is discharged, we will charge him with murder,” Kabukuru said.
A kitchen knife believed to have been used to fatally attack Njeri was recovered in the house by the police.

“The pair had twin children aged five. Their neighbors have since taken in the minors as we trace Njeri’s relatives,” Kabukuru said as reported by the Standard.
Njeri’s body has since been taken to Nakuru Municipal Mortuary as investigations into the matter continue.
