A man from Charleroi, Belgium was arrested after it was established that he had received the Covid vaccine 8 times.
The man whose identity was not immediately revealed was arrested when he had shown up at the vaccination center to receive the ninth dose.
The man is said to have taken the vaccines multiple times on behalf of those who did not want to be injected at a certain cost.
Details of those who paid him so that they could get certificates were also not revealed by the authority.
The suspect had shown up at the vaccination center as usual with someone else’s Identity Card. The staff at the center noticed and raised an alarm leading to his arrest.
Despite having been injected the vaccines on the said number of times, the man did not show any signs of complications.
He however risks being prosecuted for forgery along with the people who had benefited from his actions.
Meanwhile, Belgium has imposed extra measures to slow the spread of the Omicron variant, which is causing a spike in cases across Europe.
From December 26, indoor Christmas markets, cinemas, theaters and concert halls will be closed. Sporting events will continue, but without spectators.
Previous rules such as mandatory mask-wearing in indoor public spaces, working from home four days a week, and closing bars and restaurants at 11pm will remain in place.
