Deputy president William Samoei Ruto has once again displayed his raw anger in public just a few days to the August 9th general election.
Ruto who had gone to take his Kenya Kwanza message to Kitui county took a swipe at governor Charity Kaluki Ngilu, terming her as a very old woman who can never get someone to marry her.
The deputy president was campaigning for his Kitui gubernatorial candidate Jonathan Mueke before he lost focus and started throwing unprintable insults towards Ngilu.
“Uyu Jonathan Mueke alikuwa deputy governor pale Nairobi si alifanya kazi mzuri? Si mtamchagua huku? Na yule mama alienda aje? Uyo ni mama mzee anaeza olewa na nan?” Posed Ruto as he engaged the locals.
However, these sentiments by Ruto towards Ngilu did not go well with a number of Kenyans who accused the deputy president of being intolerant and insensitive towards women.
This came just a few days after he referred to the defense cabinet Secretary Eugine Wamalwa as a woman, something which angered most Kenyans.
The DP also accused Wamalwa of being thankless despite having assisted him to secure the Ministry job in the jubilee government.
“In our culture we do not slap women, tell him that. We respect women, tell him to stop lying. Tell that person to stop bad mouthing if it were not for me he would still be jobless and loitering in the streets,” He said.
In the meantime, Kenyans had the following to say after Ruto insulted Charity Ngilu as an old woman who cannot get any man to marry her.
“I am not surprised. The stereotype Ruto has towards women is on another level. Nowander all the presidential candidates chose women as their running mates except Ruto. This guy has a very bad attitude towards women.” Said Mary Kinyanjui.
“Alaa, just when we thought that his insults towards CS Wamalwa were a slip of the tongue and boom, here he is again throwing insults and blaming Ngilu for being old.” said Samuel Mutua.
