Makau Mutua, on Friday, October 27 alleged that Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria was planning to replace Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Through a social media post, Mutua alleged that Kuria’s recent comments pointed at a man determined to unseat his boss both in the Mt Kenya region and in national politics.
In the second scenario, Makau Mutua who served as Azimio la Umoja during the 2022 polls, said that Kuria could also be planning to face Ruto in 2027.
“There’s a method in the madness that we are seeing in Moses Kuria. He either wants to challenge his boss William Ruto for the presidency as the Agikuyu candidate or replace Rigathi as running mate to William Ruto,” Makau Mutua wrote.
Mutua told off CS Kuria who has been vocal on Mt Kenya politics saying his agenda will not see the light of day.
“It’s a delusion for none of those scenarios will pan out,” said Mutua.
On Thursday, October 26, Kuria blamed an unnamed politician behind Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza’s impeachment.
He argued that the leader was scheming to advance the Mt Kenya kingpin agenda by dividing some leaders.
However, Gachagua in the past dismissed fallout with Moses Kuria. He also vowed to protect him after a section of leaders launched an onslaught following his remarks on the cost of fuel and living.
Led by Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, they called out President William Ruto to sack Kuria over his reckless remarks asking Kenyans to drill their own oil wells.
Rigathi however, vowed to protect Kuria.
