Machakos County Chief Officer Charles Mutinda has caused mixed reactions after declaring that he wants to be buried with his academic certificates when he dies.
In a video that is circulating online, Mutinda noted that those close to him are aware that being buried with his certificates is his wishes
He was emphasising the importance of academics to his audience.
“I want to tell you parents, education certificate is the only certificate with one name. The burial certificate has two names, the deceased and next of kin. Birth certificate has two names; the owner and parent. Marriage certificate has three names; those who got married and the officiator of the marriage. A log book can have two names and a Title Deed can have two names.
“The only certificate with one name, which can not be used by anybody else is academic certificate. If I die today, I want my certificates to be placed on my pillow in the casket. I want to go with them in heaven, I can get a job there and I left my papers here,” he said leaving the crowd in stitches.
