The ruling party, Jubilee, is rebranding in a bid to disassociate itself completely from Deputy President William Ruto.
This comes after the fallout between President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP Ruto following the handshake in 2018. The handshake saw President Kenyatta and his long-term political enemy Raila Odinga unite for the sake of Kenya.
According to reports, the party’s offices are being repainted to adopt a new look consisting of a new slogan and symbol.
Jubilee has now dropped the Tuko pamoja slogan and replaced it with Mbele pamoja. The party symbol has been changed to a red dove.
The changes would be officially approved during the Jubilee National Delegates Conference that has been scheduled for February 25-26 this year.
While weighing on the changes, exiled Canadian-based Kenyan lawyer Miguna Miguna has criticized them saying that the party has adopted a color associated with Satan.
“The WHITE DOVE is a symbol of PEACE. The good BOOK has no red, blue or green doves in its pages. RED is a symbol of DEATH. LUCIFER’s colour. That’s why the DEAD@JubileePartyKand those who have MURDERED Kenyans, the economy and Katiba have embraced a RED DOVE that is extinct,” Miguna said.
Miguna Miguna has always criticized the Jubilee administration under the leadership of president Kenyatta considering that it is the same government that is responsible for his woes.
He bashed president Kenyatta over his recent remarks on DP Ruto’s campaigns. The head of state criticized his deputy for always being ‘on top of cars’ instead of working in his office.
“Hello, Mr. Despotic Drunkard: Roads, railway lines, markets, schools and hospitals are not constructed in offices. Food is produced in farms, fields and gardens. Healthcare is delivered in health centres. Pupils and students are taught in schools, colleges and universities,” Miguna said.
