Wafula Chebukati came into the limelight after he was appointed the chairman of Kenya’s electoral body, IEBC, in 2017 by former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Just like most public figures, his family is not so much in the limelight. He is however married to Mary Chebukati and together they have two sons and a daughter.
Chebukati’s eldest son is known as Jonathan. He studied a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management at United States International University between 2013-2017. He also graduated with a Masters in Marketing from the same institution.
He is said to be currently running the family’s businesses and his personal businesses as well.
Chebukati’s only daughter Rachel is the second born. She is believed to be an advocate after studying Law at the University of Nairobi. She proceeded to the University of Dundee to study Masters in Oil and Gas Law and policy.
Finally there is Emanuel, the last born, who seems to be the most popular. He is a computer Science expert. He is a cloud security engineer with over 7 year in “systems auditing, application security, and secure cloud deployment. He is a Co-Founder and Certified Cloud Security Engineer at Hepta Analytics and Heptapay.”
On the other hand, Mary works in the ministry of lands where she is the Senior Deputy Accountant General and Head of Accounting Unit. She has been holding the position since January 2019. The mother of three is a certified accountant and holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s in Commerce.
Chebukati’s wife made headlines before the 2022 general elections when he pleaded with Kenyans to pray for them because of the heavy task that was ahead of her spouse.
