Little Known Details Of Raila Odinga’s Former Son In-law Amos Ndanyi Akasa

Amos Ndanyi Akasa was married to Raila Odinga’s daughter Rosemary Odinga. Rosemary  is the second born and first daughter of the ODM leader and former prime minister, and Mama Ida.

Their colorful wedding took place on December 5, 2004 at the Kenya Commercial Bank Training Institute in Karen, Nairobi.

High profile people attended the wedding including the former heads of state, Daniel Moi and Mwai Kibaki. Others who graced the occasion include President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raphael Tuju, Kitui governor Charity Ngilu, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi among other leaders. At the time, Raila was the minister of roads and public works.

The guests were entertained by Achieng’ Abura and comedian Walter Mong’are. The event was Emceed by a seasoned journalist Kwendo Opanga and senior Counsel Patrick Lumumba.

The couple got married at the time when they were both Masters students in the United States. According to sources, they met in the US. Rosemary has an MBA in Marketing from the University of Dallas.

Amos is the last born of Maurice Akasa, a former civil worker and Phoebe Akasa from the Western province. He is from the Abanyore community.

Rosemary and Amos were blessed with a daughter before their marriage failed and they got separated in 2013. Details of what might have led to the separation were however not revealed to the public. Most details about Amos however remain scanty and he keeps a low profile.

Rosemary has since not been married again but she has a daughter with another man as well. It was rumored that she dated Michael Okwiri, a former communications manager at airtel. He is believed to be the father of Rosemary’s second born daughter.
