Johnson Sakaja education background controversies has made a Ugandan institution, Team University, a bit popular among Kenyans.
The year 2016 in October became of special interest as Kenyans have been digging to know if it is true that Sakaja graduated from the institution and more questions arose when his name was missing from the graduation list whereby only 6 students graduated with the Bachelor’s of Science in Management, a course that the Nairobi senator is said to have graduated in.
Four Kenyans are seeking to have his clearance to vie in Nairobi’s gubernatorial race because of his questionable educational background.
Team University is however a private institution located at Woodhouse in Rubaga Division, Kampala.
The institution was established in 2001 under the name of Team Business college by three Ugandan accountants namely; David Tushabomwe Ndindirize, Joseph Kigongo Balikuddembe and Sam Kindyomunda Rugaba.
In 2006, the trio applied to the Uganda National Council for Higher Education requesting to set up a private university,
In December 2007, the accountants were granted an interim authority to establish the institution. Team University would then be set up in 2010 as a degree awarding institution and received full accreditation in 2015.
Team University offers courses ranging from post graduate, Degrees, Diplomas and certificates under five faculties which include; Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Business and Management, Faculty of Applied Sciences, and Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research.
The institution offers five Masters programmes in Administration, Management, Finance, procurement and logistics management and Human Resource Management.
The Bachelor of Science in Management, which Sakaja said to have studied, is among the list of Bachelors Degrees being offered at the Institution.
