There are a number of Azimio leaders who have crossed to president-elect William Samoei Ruto despite campaigning against him prior to the August ninth general election.
The fact that these leaders have only crossed to Ruto’s side after succeeding makes them more of opportunists because they are going to add zero political value to the doyen. Besides, these leaders have most probably gone to look for jobs in Ruto’s camp after he defeated Raila.
The latest person to make that move is the former Kisii governor James Ongwae. Mr. Ongwae was an ardent supporter of Raila Odinga in Kisii region where he spearheaded his campaigns. By then, he was a strong believer in the Azimio manifesto and one is left wondering why he has suddenly crossed to Ruto now as opposed to before he could win the election.
“Look at these Azimio opportunists led by Kisii governor James Ongwae. The man has been a governor for ten years and is now going to beg Ruto to give him a job. He contributed nothing to Kenya Kwanza but now wants to be favored and be given a job at the expense of those who have stood with Ruto and campaigned for him.” said one Kenneth Kimani.
Led by conman Eliud Owalo, at the gate of the President elect are some failures purporting to be Kisii leaders, they include; Richard Tongi the former Nyaribari Chache MP, former Kisii Governor James Ongwae, former Women Rep Janet Ong’era, James Kenani the ODM candidate in the just concluded Nyaribari Chache elections who failed terribly, former Borabu MP Ben Momanyi, Jimmy Angwenyi, Zadoc Ogutu and many others.
It’s sickening to see the renowned ‘Baba Loyalists ‘ abandoning him at this time of ‘grief’ and need, yaani hawangengoja Baba apone kidogo? Anyway we want to make it clear that our leaders from Kisii are known, they include; Hon. Silvanus Osoro(South Mugirango MP), Hon. Zaheer Jhanda(Nyaribari Chache MP), Hon. Japheth Mokaya(Kitutu Chache North MP) Hon. Alfa Miruka(Bomachoge Chache MP) Hon. Ezekiel Machogu and others. We expect them to speak on behalf of our Kisii people in the Ruto Government.
