“Leave My Father Alone!” Winnie Odinga Tells Off Netizen

Date:

Winnie Odinga, the daughter of former prime minister and ODM leader Raila Odinga, has stirred Kenyans after harshly shutting down an X user.

This is after the X user, with the handle itskiptoo, asked her to tell Raila to organize demonstrations.

“Si uambie baba yako aweke maandamano,”  Kiptoo wrote while commenting on a tweet that the former prime minister’s daughter had shared.

Responding to the comment, Winnie noted that the X user is among those who voted against Raila and therefore he is not guaranteed to ask for demonstrations from the opposition leader.

” Si ulimtuma Bondo? Achana na babangu,” Winnie authoritatively said.

Her response attracted wild reactions with some commending her for standing up for her father.

Others attacked the Twitter user telling him to ask his father to demonstrate instead. Here are some of their reactions;

“As a Kenyan who has always voted and fully supported your father and has been physically hurt twice during maandamano and lost a friend to a love bullet during 2007 post election violence,i do not appreciate such a tweet.we are suffering and we need help,” a netizen said.

“Mwambie atume Babake aongoze maandamano!” Another said.

Others however noted that the twitter user has a point from how the situation is currently and that the action might be of advantage to Raila.

“Yes alimtuma Bondo… But their only option right now ni Baba kwenda streets, the streets are calling, the revolution is ripe now, NOW is the time, you never know if the anger is well managed, he might be the President not long before 2027… The whole country awaits…Sieze it,” another comment read
