Lawyer Donald Kipkorir, an ardent supporter of ODM leader Raila Odinga, has opened up the unknown details of his connection with ICC suspect and lawyer Paul Gicheru.
In a tweet on Tuesday, September 27, Kipkorir revealed that Gicheru is his neighbor and that they share a property back in Eldoret.
“We all know Paul Gicheru differently, but to me he was my neighbor. We purchased one property in Eldoret, sub-divided into two & shared one gate. I Pray for the repose of his soul & that his family be comforted. May the prayers of his family reach the heavens,” Kipkorir said.
The reports on Gicheru’s death were confirmed on Monday night by his family as well as the police.
The police said that the lawyer had a late lunch and went to sleep after feeling unwell. He however did not wake up. His son was also affected such that he collapsed and was rushed to hospital.
““He had a late lunch and felt unwell and went to bed but he did not wake up. His son too collapsed and was taken to Karen hospital in stable condition,” police said.
According to a report filed at the Karen police station Gicheru was found releasing foam on his mouth.
The lawyer’s death comes amid his ongoing trial at the International Criminal Court on witness interference in the crimes against humanity case that was facing President William Ruto and Joshua Arap Sang at the same court.
