Kenya Wildlife Service on Friday, November 3 deployed specialist officers to capture warthogs that had invaded Multimedia University in Rongai.
From the photos shared by KWS, the warthogs were spotted on the university corridors prompting them to act.
In a coordinated exercise, veterinary officers from KWS used advanced technology to capture 18 warthogs from the Multimedia University.
The captured wild animals were translocated to Lake Jipe Conservancy.
According to KWS, the exercise was key to reducing human-wildlife conflicts
“KWS Vet and Capture team successfully translocated 18 common warthogs from Multimedia University to Lake Jipe Conservancy,” KWS statement read in part.
“This not only contributes to increasing biodiversity in the conservancy but also helps mitigate human-wildlife conflicts in the university benefiting both the wildlife and the local community,” it added.
