Ksh200 Million Prison Deal Aside! How Millicent Omanga Stole Money From An Innocent Man Of God

Date:

Nominated senator Millicent Omanga has yet again found herself in a duping scandal this round involving an American pastor.

According to a local publication, Omanga conned the pastor identified as David Smittkamp, 54, Kshs28,000 that he had paid as deposit when he rented a flat in the politician’s apartment located in Kisii in January this year.

The pastor rented the flat at Nyamataro apartment in January 15  to March 15. He paid a total of Kshs 56,000 in January with half of the money being the deposit  that was supposed to be returned to him once he left the house on condition that nothing was ruined.

The caretaker informed him that he would receive his money in full on April 15 since everything in the house was okay. However, that turned out to be an empty promise.

“It has been three months since I was told the money would be reimbursed and I have not seen any such thing. The caretaker told me he would give me the amount as soon as the senator wired it to him, but he has not received that amount to pay me since March,” the Church of love pastor said. His church is based in the US.

The pastor has been in constant communication with Omanga’s caretaker only identified as Vincent and he has only been making promises without fulfilling them. He had even offered to give him Kshs5,000 of his Kshs6,000 monthly salary every month to settle the debt.

Smittkamp was also informed that the receipt on the particular payment was missing and Omanga even blocked him when he tried contacting her.

“I wonder how a person, with a high position as that of the senator would con people in this manner. I even called her and after hearing me, she clicked, hung up the phone and blocked my number,” the pastor said.

When contacted on the issue, Omanga said that she knows nothing about such a case and that the victim should deal with agents and not her.

“I do not recall such a matter. I honestly do not remember such a thing, but being an issue of rent and deposit, he (Smittkamp) should contact the apartment’s agents, who I am sure will handle the matter,” Omanga said.

This comes just days after reports emerged that her business enterprise, Milways, was involved in a dubious deal with the Kenya prison services that would have seen her pocket Kshs200 million.
