Amira chose to separate with her husband city businessman Jamal Marlaw Rohosafi citing disrespect on Thursday, November 4.
This is after Jamal posted videos of his ex-wife Amber Ray wishing her a happy birthday as she turned a year older.
This prompted Amira to request her husband to get the divorce papers ready while asking fans to refer to her as a single mother.
According to Amira, she should have taken the divorce step a long time ago, but she only found courage to do so on Thursday.
“As from today kindly consider me a single mum. @jimalrohosafi kindly get that divorce paper ready. Am not going to allow you to disrespect me again,” Amira said on her Insta stories.
“On the 4th of November, I got courage to stand up for myself. It is something that I should have done a long time ago but I didn’t have the courage. But it reaches a point where enough is enough,” she went on.
Reports also indicated that Amira had gone to the Kadhi’s Court to file for a divorce.
While weighing in on Jamal and Amira’s matter, breakfast show hosts at Kiss FM, Kamene Goro and Jalas, totally disagreed while sharing their different opinions.
According to Jalang’o, there was no problem in Jamal sending Amber Ray birthday wishes.
“Depending on what made you break up, you can celebrate your ex on her birthday especially, there is no future without a past. You could still have those happy moments, nyinyi sio maadui. The mother of my daughter I recently wished her a happy birthday. Kamene, I think you are a sadist and a cold-hearted human being,” Jalang’o said.
On her side, Kamene could not hear any of that. The media personality said that once a couple breaks up, everyone should go their separate ways.
“Where has there ever been a person who moves on if you are tied to your ex? Where you go wrong is having affiliations,. An ex is an ex, there are no hae’s, byes or happy birthdays. Why would I wish my ex a happy birthday? Whatever happened let it stay there,” she said.
