Mystery deaths started striking William Ruto’s office in February 2020 when Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei was brutally murdered, then Corporal David Too and now Ken Osinde.
Sergeant Kipyegon Kenei was an Administration Police officer attached to the office of Deputy President.
Kenei was found dead at his home in Imara Daima in Nairobi in February 2020. Kenei’s death was linked to a Ksh40 billion fake gun scandal that involved former Sports CS Rashid Echesa.
He was allegedly killed for knowing too much about the corrupt gun deal that was being orchestrated at the Ruto’s office.
On June 21st, witnesses stated that Echesa took two white men to the office of the deputy president before he was arrested for defrauding Polish traders in the fake gun scandal.
Security details at the Deputy President’s office were reported to have confiscated a bag and mobile phones belonging to the white men before they were allowed into the premises.
Echesa was alleged to have told the security personnel that he and the two foreigners had an appointment with the DP.
Nicholas Maiyo who is also Ruto’s bodyguard admitted that he let the trio into a waiting room at the Harambee Annex offices. He then called Ruto’s Karen office to inquire on the DP’s whereabouts and he was told that the DP was heading to Kandara, Murang’a County for a burial ceremony.
Maiyo added that he did not confiscate Echesa’s phone since he wanted the former CS to confirm that the DP was unavailable and maybe reschedule the meeting.
“We believe Echesa had talked with him because they were friends since he was a CS and he frequented the office,” Maiyo explained.
Barely a year after Kenei’s murder, another officer Corporal David Too, 51, who was attached to Office of the Deputy President died under strange circumstances.
Too reportedly committed suicide in Ngeria, Uasin Gishu County after jumped into a dam that had formed from a quarry.
Too was said to have committed suicide as a result of job-related stress. It was reported that he had misplaced a camera belonging to the Deputy President Press Service three days earlier before he took his own life.
Well, questions are also being raised about the death of Ruto’s Chief of Staff Ken Nyauncho Osinde who passed on suddenly on December 10th 2021.
Blogger Robert Alai has asked Ruto a hard hitting questions about Osinde’s death after revelation by Interior CS Fred Matiang’i that he was fit and healthy.
