Khalwale Goes After Raila’s Man Who Has Fake Degree After Oscar Sudi Is Exposed

Date:

Boni Khalwale has decided to name politicians without requisite academic qualifications after Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi was exposed for forging KCSE and diploma certificates.

Anti-corruption court was on Tuesday October 26th told that Sudi did not sit the 2006 KCSE exams as earlier alleged.

Kenya National Examinations Council principal examinations secretary Nabiki ene Kashu told magistrate Felix Kombo that the Kapseret MP did not register or sit the 2006 KCSE examination at Highway Secondary School in Nairobi.

She was testifying in a case in which Sudi has been charged with forging a diploma certificate in business management purporting it to be a genuine document issued by the Kenya Institute of Management.

He is also accused of forging his KCSE certificate purporting it to be a genuine document issued by the Kenya National Examination council.

Sudi forged the documents to circumvent Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) requirements on academic qualifications.

Speaking on Thursday October 28th during an interview on Citizen TV alongside Machakos governor Alfred Mutua, Boni Khalwale defended Sudi stressing that he doesn’t need a degree to be a Member of Parliament.

The former Kakamega senator said that the Kapseret MP he has a good development records despite having fake certificates.

He further claimed that what Sudi is undergoing is because he supports the deputy president William Ruto.

Khalwale noted that despite the Mombasa governor Hassan Joho not having a degree, the government does not follow him because he currently dances to their tune.

“Is it necessary to have a degree,” Trevor Ombija asked Khalwale.

To which he replied;

“No it is not, in fact the only reason why the Member of Parliament of Kapseret is undergoing this prosecution and persecution it is because he is associated with the deputy president. We all know that courts have also made a statement on the education or lack of it by the governor of Mombasa Joho. He has never been subjected to this kind of trial in the court of public opinion. It’s a waste of time. In fact am surprised by our good friend Mutua he is trying to make issues out of an area where he knows that there are many governors – some of his friends – who are in office today and they do not have a degree. So the bottom line is that who really should have a degree.”

There were attempts to lock Joho out of the August 8th 2017 general election on grounds that he was not qualified to run for governor.

Joho got D- (minus) grade in KCSE and there were concerns that he didn’t qualify to join university to pursue a degree.

The Mombasa governor holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Kampala International University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Gretsa University.

Khalwale further named some of the great politicians who didn’t have a degree yet they had impressive records.

“Mutua you come from the Kamba community and one of the greatest leader from there was Mulu Mutisya. Mulu Mutisya I do not think he had a degree, and Mutua will be lucky if he will live to either equal or surpass the record of leadership by Mulu Mutisya. We had great leaders from other communities including Oloitiptip. Oloitiptip was our minister and a very effective one, he did not have a degree. We had people like Njenga Karume… yet they did a good job. People like Martin Shikuku. Martin Shikuku did not have a degree. Tom Mboya did not have a degree. Josiah Mwangi Kariuki – JM did not have a degree. And yet in the great record of history of the republic they are the greatest leaders we have had in parliament,” said Khalwale.

The former Kakamega senator further explained why he thinks MCAs and MPs don’t need degrees to be elected.

“Why do I think that an MCA and a Member of Parliament does not require a degree? It is because their role is oversight, what they need is ability to read and write. Somebody who knows how to read and write means can comprehend whatever he is reading and whatever he is writing.”
