Reps from both the late Keroche Breweries heiress, Tecra Muigai and those of her boyfriend, Omar Lali, have failed to agree on the final report of the post mortem.
Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor led the team conducting the autopsy on Tuesday, May 12 at Nairobi’s Lee Funeral Home and stated that Tecra succumbed to injuries sustained on the left side of her head.
According to a report done by the Standard on Friday, May 15, the family representative lawyer James Orengo and businessman Peter Kuguru failed to agree with Lali’s lawyer on what led to Tecra’s fatal fall.
While the family representatives argued that Tecra was pushed, Lali’s lawyer maintained that the fall was an accident.
The publication added that sources who knew more about the autopsy results indicated that there were no injuries Tecra’s body and that no struggle was indicated before she died.
The teams are said to have agreed to meet again and agree on a final report before the burial of the deceased.
Lali, who is currently in detention at the Lamu Police Post previously indicated that the two spent a night together on Tuesday, April 28, the night Tecra reportedly fell.
He narrated that the two had a few drinks before he dozed off at around 1 a.m., only to woken up by a loud noise.
“I heard a loud thud and a single scream. I looked towards where Tecra was sleeping and found out she wasn’t around. I looked towards the staircase and saw her at the bottom.
“I tried to conduct first aid by fanning her and later tried to resuscitate her,” Omar recalled.
He would call his brother and together, they rushed the deceased to a nearby dispensary where a CT scan was recommended and Tecra was transferred to King Fahd County Referral Hospital where she was admitted.
Omar later on called Tecra’s mother, Tabitha Karanja after he lost hope in the hospital and at around 10:30 p.m., Tecra was airlifted by Amref to Nairobi Hospital.
Four days later, on Saturday, May 2, Tecra passed on.
