Politicians like Boni Khalwale are tone-deaf and don’t understand that Kenyans don’t want to politic during the COVID-19. The former Kakamega senator found himself in hot soup after asking Kenyans about Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 running mate.
Taking to his Twitter, the former Kakamega senator provided a set of suggestions of people and regions from where the DP could choose his partner in the General Elections.
Despite the spirited efforts by BBI proponents to scuttle his presidential ambitions, all indications remain constant. That @WilliamsRuto will win in 2022.
For national cohesion & development, his best choice for running mate should be— Dr Boni Khalwale, CBS (@KBonimtetezi) May 6, 2020
Kenyans flocked the comment section and lectured him with many telling him to forget about politics for a moment and focus on the war against COVID-19.
Prince Nelson Junior told the politician to ask Kenyans meaningful questions on how they were dealing with the pandemic and not 2022 elections.
“I wish you were asking how we are dealing with coronavirus. You are so insensitive,” Junior blasted the former legislator. Another user identified as Phannie A. Kwega sneered at Khalwale with laugh emojis and questioned whether that was the best post he came up with during these times.
Jane Kyalo said Kenyans were on a political break and did not need such questions. “When the entire world is focusing on how to contain coronavirus, someone is here obsessed with 2022 politics unfortunately who will be alive at that time? Only God knows.” a user by the name Abdirizak Mohamud said.
