Rose Tata Wekesa, a Kenyan teacher is looking forward to set a new world record on the longest science lesson.
The marathon, which will take place as from January 13, 2024, will see her teach for 50 hours nonstop.
She intends to teach Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
“Dear ones, I am a teacher of Science(Biology and Chemistry). A few months ago, I applied to the Guinness World Record for an opportunity to set a new record title for the longest Science Lesson by an individual,” she shared online while requesting for support through services, publicity and financially.
In a separate video, she explained her reasons for attempting to set the new record
“I am doing this to inspire the world that Sciences are doable. I am also doing this to display that teaching is a noble career, and that teachers should be highly esteemed. This is a non-profit making venture but it is quite expensive, I am calling upon sponsors to partner with me in this attempt,” Wekesa said.
This comes after another Kenyan set a new world record on the longest cooking by an individual. Chef Maliha cooked for 150 hours nonstop, months after setting another cooking record.
“The lion, the conqueror, the champion is here! 150 hours and the record is home. Thanks to all that came through especially Kenyans that made it to witness this prolific moment in time. Remember, be phenomenal or be forgotten!” she shared online after the 150-hour cooking race.
“Every second felt like an eternity, but also an opportunity to push beyond limits. This has not just been a personal triumph but a celebration of the resilience that resides within each one of us. It has been a journey and labor of love from Kenyans from all walks of life,” she also said in a separate interview.
