Kenya Railways has issued a statement announcing delays in train services.
Kenya Railways attributed the delay experienced on the better part of Monday morning to the heavy rains which had affected the railway lines.
The rains had caused flooding thus affecting the movement of locomotives.
“We wish to notify members of the public that we are experiencing delays with the Commuter Service due to flooding on sections of our line,” Kenya Railways announced
However, the government entity assured commuters that a team had been deployed to help contain the situation
“Our teams are working to restore normalcy. We will advise once normal services resume. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
In the city, the train plies different routes including Nairobi- Syokimau, Nairobi – Ruiru, Nairobi – Kahawa, Nairobi – Embakasi Village, Nairobi – Kikuyu and Nairobi- SGR LINK.
However, due to heavy rains, some commuters were left stranded and others were delayed in reaching their destination due to the flooding.
