KDF Responds on Confrontation and Arrest of Soldiers in Lodwar

Date:

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has denied reports that its soldiers stormed and confronted police officers in Lodwar Police Station.

In a statement, KDF indicated that the soldiers exercised constraint during that heated moment.

KDF however vowed to investigate the case to get at the bottom of the incident.

A report released by police had also indicated that the said KDF officers slapped a police officer who was manning a roadblock and directed him to kneel on the road.

However, KDF has refuted the assault reports.

“The exercise of professionalism and restraint by KDF troops operating in Lodwar is recognized and commended. Joint investigations by relevant authorities to establish facts on this incident are ongoing to inform the next course of action,” their statement read in part.
