Autopsy conducted on the body of 20-year old Juanitor Mbula Nzomo, who fell to her death in Kasarani last Saturday, indicate that she died due to the injuries she started in the fall.
Mbula fell from the 10th floor of an apartment that also offers short stay accommodation on March. Investigations are yet to establish whether it was a case of suicide, murder or an accident.
According to Peter Ndegwa, the pathologist who conducted the postmortem, the deceased suffered ‘multiple force trauma injuries consistent with a fall from a height,’ The Star reported.
The autopsy was done at City mortuary in presence of police and Mbula’s relatives on Tuesday March 5.
According to residents of the apartment where the incident occurred, they was a commotion in the wee hours of Saturday only for her half naked body to be discovered later. Apparently, the woman shouted for help at the balcony of the apartment before the deadly fall.
She was wearing a red top when her body was discovered, similar to the one that was captured on CCTV footage indicating her last moments.
The man who had accompanied her in the apartment was found unconscious with 8 stab wounds after police entered the room they had booked.
The room had been locked from inside prompting the police to call the owner to provide a spare key.
The man allegedly told the police that Mbula was the one who stabbed him.
The room was also messy showing signs of a struggle that had ensued and had blood splattered on the walls and sheets.
The man was found inside the bathroom on the floor. It is believed that he either sought refuge in the bathroom after being stabbed or he might have stabbed himself.
Nairobi Police Boss Adamson Bungei however said that they are waiting for the suspect to recover before taking his statement.
“For now he is the main suspect in this incident as we investigate it,” he said.
