Kanye West Concedes Defeat After Garnering 57,000 Votes

Presidential hopeful Kanye West has conceded defeat after garnering a paltry 57,000 votes in the ongoing US presidential elections.

The wrapper was running as an independent candidate with his running mate Michelle Tidball. Kanye West joined the other candidates and voted for himself in the we hours of Tuesday morning.

There were speculations that the music icon was going to siphon several votes belonging to the black from Democratic flagbearer Joe Biden.

During today’s election day, Kanye West released a number of videos as he casted his votes. He joined the hotly contested  race in late July 2020 in a bid to replace the incumbent president Donald Trump.

Interestingly, Kanye noted that he was casting his first vote in the entire  American voting history. In a tweet, the musician wrote: ” Today I am voting for the first time in my life for the President of the United States, and it’s for someone I truly trust….Me.”

The 43 year old only appeared on ballots belonging to 12 states as opposed to other major states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, amongst others.

He further noted that he will be contesting again come 2024 when Americans will head to another general election.

His first shot at the presidency saw him garner 6,000 votes in Colorado, 10,188 in Tennessee, 1,200 votes in Vermont, 4,053 votes in Utah, and 3,979 votes in Arkansas. He also got 6,796 votes in Minnesota, 5,587 votes in Oklahoma, 3,009 votes in Mississippi, 6,259 in Kentucky amongst others.

This election is too close to call with Joe Biden going neck to neck with the incumbent President Donald Trump. The preliminary results as at now show Joe Biden leading with most electoral colleges in his favor. Donald Trump is following him closely with few states yet to send their presidential results.
