On Monday former Vice-President, Kalonzo Musyoka’s bodyguard, Sergent Joel Kieti Kilonzo of Industrial Area Remand Prison was attacked and robbed of his official firearm after dropping the ex-VP home.
The bodyguard told police officers that he had been accosted by an armed four-man gang as he was walking to board a matatu to town after dropping off the Wiper Leader at him home.
According to the bodyguard he had escorted the Wiper leader to his home at around 7 pm and was then dropped off by Kalonzo’s driver at Karen County Club where he was taking some refreshments.
He then left the club at around 8 pm when he was accosted by armed robbers. When he tried to reach for his gun, he was hit hard on the head and fell to his feet. The four robbers managed to subdue him, tied his hands from behind, and bundled him into an SUV.

Mr. Kilonzo said the gang took his Ceska pistol that was loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition, Ksh4,000 in cash and a mobile phone valued at Ksh10,000.
After the robbery incident, the bodyguard said he walked to Embakasi Police Station where he reported the robbery.
The matter was then referred to the Karen Police Station for further investigations.
