Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka secretly invited Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader to his National Delegates Conference (NDC).
According to sources, Kalonzo Musyoka lied to the OKA principals that he did not invite the Orange leader to his Kasarani event only for the opposition chief to arrive unexpectedly.
As a result, the arrival of Raila at the event surprised the other One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals after he came in and sat near Kalonzo Musyoka.
The Wiper Party National Delegates Convention (NDC) which is currently underway at the Kasarani Stadium has a number of leaders attending such as Gideon Moi, Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula, Cyrus Jirongo, Charity Ngilu & Raphael Tuju.
The event is meant to endorse Steven Kalonzo Musyoka as the Wiper party presidential candidate ahead of the 2022 general elections.
In the meantime, the political troubles facing Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula seems to be deepening after one person was shot during the FORD Kenya National Delegates Committee (NDC).
Apparently, Moses Wetangula was set to be named the FORD Kenya presidential flag-bearer in the meeting held recently.
The Moses Wetangula FORD Kenya party has been facing leadership wrangles with some factions supporting the Bungoma senator while the other one backing the Kanduyi member of parliament Wafula Wamunyinyi.
The two factions clashed bitterly after two bullets rented the air, forcing the delegates who were wearing green tshirts to storm out of the Bomas.
Earlier as reported by the Star, the Ford Kenya faction led by Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu announced it had put on hold its planned NDC meeting following an order by the Political Parties and Disputes Tribunal.
The tribunal stopped two parallel NDCs, one called by a faction led by Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula and the other by Eseli’s wing.
Speaking at a press conference held at a Nairobi hotel on Thursday, Eseli said the order was served electronically on Wednesday at 4pm.
“Arrangements for our meeting were in high gear. We had secured and paid for a venue. Though aggrieved by the decision, we will abide by the orders as we have previously done,” he said.
In the meantime, Kalonzo Musyoka had a few months ago vowed never to back Raila Odinga again. According to him, he would be very foolish to back the opposition leader for another round.
Kalonzo further stated that he would match all the way to the ballot box since he was also capable of taking over the leadership of the country.
