Constable Benson Imbasi went on a killing spree early Tuesday morning December 7th shooting dead six people in Kabete, Kiambu county before turning the gun on himself.
Imbasi – a police Constable based at Kabete Police Station – shot dead his wife and five other boda boda riders before turning the gun on himself on Tuesday around 2:00 am.
Neighbors who know Imbasi say the killer police officer was a serial womanizer whose philandering ways drove away his wife severally.
The informants said constable Imbasi’s wife only known as Carol used to run away with their child severally because of her husband’s infidelity.
The mystery killing of five other people is said to have been brought about by the police officer’s constant domestic wrangles at home.
The slain wife is said to have been operating at a local bar where the killer cop had opened for her after they were blessed with a child together.
The relationship however was rocked with claims of cheating on both sides leading to constant fights and abandonment during the pregnancy period.
Tuesday December 7th marked the culmination of the domestic violence as constable Imbasi shot dead Carol before he went on a killing spree.
The fire arm that was used was reported to have been taken from Kabete Police Station earlier, Imbasi then waited for Carol to close her bar before spraying her with bullets.
It was during the scuffle that the slain boda boda operators tried to intervene but Imbasi turned on them by firing over 26 bullets and killing them on the spot.
