Ndindi Nyoro, the Kiharu Member of Parliament has reaffirmed his support for Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential ambition as 2022 succession politics takes shape.
Nyoro, who is Ruto’s point-man in the vote-rich Mount Kenya region, believes the deputy president will become Kenya’s greatest president ever, one created by God.
The youthful MP, a staunch member of the Tanga Tanga faction of the ruling Jubilee Party, also reminded those ‘fighting’ Ruto and his allies that Kenya belongs to all of Kenyans, insinuating some of them were not being treated like Kenyans.
“Ruto will be the greatest president that God ever created. This country belongs to all of us, not just to a handful of rich billionaires! We are Africans and Africa is our business!,” he tweeted on Monday, January 13.
It is understood Nyoro was reacting to the arrest of his Gatundu South counterpart, Moses Kuria, another vocal Tanga Tanga member and supporter of Ruto, over alleged assault of media commentator, Joyce Wanja, on on December 8, 2019 at Royal Media Services offices.
A group of politicians allied to Tanga Tanga, among them Nyoro and his colleagues Alice Wahome (Kandara), Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu), trooped to Kilimani Police Station where Kuria was being held in attempt to have him released only to be met with teargas.
The latest remarks by Nyoro, who has had his own share of trouble with the law enforcers over alleged incitement and and for resisting arrest, was also irked by reports that the deputy president, was locked out of his official residence in Mombasa county.
As expected, Tanga Tanga members reacted swiftly to by sending messages of encouragement to Ruto asking him to stay strong.
