Majority Leader Aden Duale is among politicians earmarked for a possible de-whipping and removal by the Jubilee party for their alleged disloyalty.
The Garissa lawmaker will most likely be replaced by Kieni MP Kanini Kega, a fierce critic of Deputy President William Ruto whose association with certain MPs was the genesis of the disciplinary actions.
However, according to lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi, Duale is the rock and the foundation that held the party together in the House thus should not be ejected.
The senior counsel added the Jubilee troop risked being incapacitated in the battle should the party blunder by replacing the Garissa Township MP whom the lawyer described as fierce warrior.
“My Jubilee Party will not get a more loyal, eloquent, hardworking, fierce warrior as majority leader than Aden Duale. The names being tossed/peddled around as his replacement are rabbits, cats and foxes compared to the lion the party has,” he noted.
Though there were initial reports that accusations against the politicians may be dropped owing to his strong defence of the government agenda, he opted to remain mum.
Critics like trade unionist Francis Atwoli recently argued that he should only be pardoned if the party will extend same treatment to the other accused.
“There is no way, the majority whip will be removed and the majority leader be retained. They all represent the government in the assembly and the two have been loyal to Ruto. If they have to go, they should all go and not one of them,” said Atwoli.
