Former Machakos senator and UDA chairman Johnson Muthama has announced his plans for the Machakos Whitehouse once he ascends to power.
Muthama who will be vying for the Machakos Gubernatorial seat has promised to convert the White house into a referral hospital.
According to him, the move will ensure that residents have access to high standards of health care and also save them from spending a lot to travel to Nairobi in seeking high level healthcare.
“In my tenure as the Governor, I will convert that office block to a referral hospital to ensure that all residents have access to the highest possible standard of health care irrespective of where they live within the County. This will stop unnecessary & costly movement of patients (seeking high level of care) to Kenyatta Teaching & Referral Hospital in Nairobi City County. Our people deserve better,” Muthama said on twitter.
He also said that the multi-billion Whitehouse was overpriced to the expensive common citizens.
“Building an overpriced multi-billion Governor’s office (Whitehouse) by Dr. Alfred Mutua in Machakos Town was ill-advised and against the common good.

Aside from that, Muthama said that his priority in every sector of the county’ economy will be service delivery.
“Potholes in the newly constructed MUA Road that connects Mombasa road to Machakos-Kangundo Road (at Kaloleni shopping centre) is a wake up call to everyone.
“My Machakos County Govt in 2022 will continuously activate adhoc Inspection & Acceptance Committee as envisioned inPublic Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (PPADA), 2015 to ensure all roads are inspected (in Collaboration with other lead agencies) for quality before any payments are done to the contractors. Service delivery will be my priority in every sector of our County economy,” the former senator said.
