Sonko news has learnt from a highly credible source that radio presenter Felix Odiwuor aka Jalang’o is just wasting his time in the ODM party in his quest to clinch the Lang’ata parliamentary seat.
According to this source, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) cartels are seriously rethinking their association with Jalang’o as the 2022 general election looms.
One of the reasons stated by these sources is that they doubt the loyalty of Jalang’o since they believe that he has been privately visiting deputy president William Samoei Ruto.
The doubts came in the wake of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) bloggers sharing photos of Jalang’o meeting Ruto at his official residence in Karen and claiming that the vocal comedian had officially joined the UDA party from ODM.
So viral were the accusations that Jalang’o was literally forced to come out of his hiding and set the records straight that he was still very loyal to the opposition party.
As a result, he shared some video of him officially joining the ODM party and assured his supporters that he is still devoted to the party leader Raila Odinga.
“Langata is starting to get hot and our competitors are not sleeping either…wameanza propaganda! Wacha tuwakumbushe chama ni ODM! Azimio la Umoja!! Wamepanick!!” Jalang’o wrote.
These sources further opined that Jalang’o is just like a messenger sent by the UDA to rock ODM from within before he finally goes back to where his heart is. Apart from those private associations, the radio presenter even gave Ruto a platform late last year when he invited him for an interview in his show dubbed “Jalang’o TV.”
Another reason why Jalang’o is wasting his time in ODM is due to his alleged participation in wash wash businesses and being close to those doing such illegitimate businesses.
The ODM party through its constitution advocates for integrity and honesty for all those willing to fly its tickets in any part of the country. Thus, the issue of jalang’o associating with wash wash seems not to be auguring well with them.
Infact, the source added that they are confused whether they should just tell off Jalang’o now or wait until the election time and “wash” him live by shortchanging him in the ticket.
Jalang’o was among celebrities who were adversely mentioned in Edgar Obare’s exposé in August 2021 that shed light on the wash wash cartel in Kenya.
Wash wash business involves fake gold scams, money printing and several other dubious deals involving billions of shillings.
Obare claimed that Jalang’o is part and parcel of the syndicate that engages in money laundering and distributing fake currencies in the country.
Jalango’s political enemies also started rumors that the Kiss FM radio presenter had bought a brand new Toyota V8 this Njaanuary.
Apparently, the V8 rumor was started by the Instagram Page Nairobi Gossip club and then picked up by other local and international outlets.
However, Jalang’o vehemently denied purchasing the v8 this Njaanuary, insisting that the rumors of v8 were being spread by his political rivals to justify the money laundering scheme and to completely finish him politically and send him back to the village.
Besides, ODM is said to be keen on implementing all the avenues possible to recapture the Lang’ata seat with their worry being on someone whose loyalty is questionable like the radio presenter.
It is on that basis that the Odinga family have proposed Jaoko Oburu, the son to Mr. Oburu Odinga to fly the ODM ticket in Lang’ata constituency.
For the last few days, campaign posters of Jaoko Oburu have been going viral as he urges the Lang’ata residents to register as voters. Clearly, ODM believes that the Lang’ata seat would be much safer in the hands of Jaoko as opposed to jalang’o.
On his side, Jakakimba who was set to go for the same Lang’ata seat under the ODM party is said to be a serious joker who only campaigns through his phone instead of going to the ground where voters are. At least as things stand, jakakimba is not even a topic of discussion in Lang’ata thanks to his joking skills.
