Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura’s wife Nelius Mukami, has an interesting opinion concerning Jowie Irungu.
Nelius is elated after getting wind Jowie’s DNA was not spotted in the murder scene because she vehemently believes he is innocent.
Jowie, alias Joseph Irungu, who is being held in connection to the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani has been in remand for more than a year after he was denied bail.
Mukami was spotted on the comment section of a local Tv station’s Facebook post which reported that no item from the murder scene had Jowie’s DNA, and this information seemingly aroused hope in her that he may be released.
She said she felt bad for him and expressed hope that his freedom was imminent. “At least he can get some relief. God is always on time. He can now be freed with no reasonable doubt that he is innocent,” Mukami wrote.
Jowie is the prime suspect in Kimani’s murder alongside his rumoured lover and ex-Tv presenter Jacque Maribe. Maribe was granted bail while he was denied on the grounds he is a flight risk.
The hearing of the case unearthed some truths pertaining to the gruesome murder of the woman. A government analyst, Joseph Kimani said no samples collected from Maribe’s car matched the DNA profile of Monica.
The DNA on the traps which form part of 73 exhibits of Kimani did not link Jowie as the suspect who tied the woman before her throat was cut.
